WEEK 2 (11TH SEPTEMBER - 15TH SEPTEMBER 2023)
HELLO! HELLO!
Hello! Welcome back to Week 2 of my practicum journey
at Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Maluri. As usual, for the first few weeks, I had nothing to do except sit and do nothing. While I was doing nothing, my
mentor came to me, and guess what? I finally got my own timetable. My very first
official class starts on 12th September. I was excited and knew what
to expect when I got into the class. I was prepared mentally and physically to
lose my voice again the next day. The next day has come and here I am
walking to the class. It was my minor subject class which is Art subject. When I
entered the classroom, I was shocked and smiled. The kids are doing their homework!
Silently! From that moment, I know that I will like this class so much. I let
them do their work for 10 minutes. Then, I gave each of them a piece of
sketch paper. I told them to draw anything on the paper. They did the work
silently. 10 minutes before the class came to an end, a few pupils came to me
and gave their drawings. They drew me! I was touched and so happy. They told me
to not lose the paper. Yes! I won’t and I promise. But, you know that every
happy thing also comes to an end. I don’t teach the class anymore. My timetable
was changed because it was too dense. 4 Gamma, I am going to miss all of you!
On 13th September, the school had a sports
day rehearsal. I joined the kids at the field. I was on the Temenggung (green) team.
I watched them marching and running across the field under the sun. It was
bloody hot but the kids’ determination in sports can’t be stopped. They are as strong as ever when it comes to sports. They are unstoppable!
On the next day, the school conducted a farewell event for two teachers who were going to leave SK Taman Maluri and got change to another school. Though I was new and still getting to know each teacher in the room, I knew that these two teachers were great teachers. Some of the pupils even cried on that day. Many presents and gifts were given as something to be remembered by the teachers. This showed how precious and great teachers are to the pupils.
On the last day of my third week, I wore ‘baju kurung’
feeling girly and pretty. Little did I know, there was still sports day
rehearsal on that day. I was assigned to be at the running lapse to find a
winner. I was sweating a lot. Just imagine, wearing ‘baju kurung’ in very
hot weather. I wish that I didn’t wear ‘baju kurung’ on that day!
Just like that, my second week of practicum ended.
