WEEK 5 (2ND OCTOBER 2023 - 6TH OCTOBER 2023)
HELLO! HELLO!
Welcome to my week 5 surviving the practicum! During
this week, there was only 1 event that happened which was the Maulidur Rasul
Celebration. So, let’s start with the first day of the week. On Monday, 2nd
October 2023 I got to enter 3 Gamma for English class. We learned about past
tense. There is this one special kid in this class. He was a bit slow compared
to his friends. But, what he did on this day was very thoughtful. I distributed
them a worksheet and asked them to complete the exercise and handed it to me by
the end of the class. As usual, some advanced kids completed the
exercise within the times given. I made an exception for that one student
because I knew that he would take the longest to complete the exercise. So, I
don’t really mind if he wants to bring his work home. But, little did I know,
he actually completed the exercise. Right after I stepped out of the class, he
ran towards me to hand over his work. Honestly, I was shocked. I did not expect
him to finish all the questions. Not only did he finish the work, but he also
scored 8/10 for the amazing exercise. I am more than proud of him. His
determination and hard work, I respected that. So, there are no excuses for
people to delay their work even though it is hard.
Next, on 3rd October 2023, I entered 2 Alfa
class for Art class. We were going to use a stamping technique using watercolour.
The class started great until the kids started to splash the watercolour on the
floor and play with it instead of doing it on their own paper. I scolded them a
bit and asked them to clean up the mess they made. They went to look for a mop
from the cleaner and clean up the mess. It was hard to control them in the
middle of the class. They got too excited easily and forgot what they actually needed
to do.
After that day, on the 4th and 5th
of October 2023, I entered 5 Sigma and we learned about the present continuous
tense and played some games in the class. The learning was happening like usual
and 5 Sigma pupils were cheerful as always. They are sometimes naughty but it
was fun to teach that class.
On the last day of the week, Friday 6th
October 2023, the school conducted Maulidur Rasul Celebration. All of the
pupils of Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Maluri participated in that event. Early in
the morning, all the pupils gathered in the foyer with their ‘baju melayu’ and
‘baju kurung’. They were so cute! We held a yaasin recitation and a talk about
our prophet Muhammad S.A.W. After that, year one, two and three pupils had a
colouring competition in their classes. For year four, five and six pupils,
they had a scrapbook competition until the day's end.
On week 5, I would say it was kind of like a normal
boring week. There was nothing much happening during this week except for the Maulidur
Rasul Celebration. Bubye!!
