WEEK 12 (20TH NOVEMBER 2023 - 25TH NOVEMBER 2023)

 HELLO! HELLO!

On 20th November 2023, we had a morning assembly like usual. But, we also had an award ceremony for Language Week. I was also an emcee to call upon the winners from English Week. I was nervous because it was my first time in so long being an emcee. But, all praises to Allah that everything went very well. However, there were a few winners that didn’t come to the stage on time when I called them. so, it made the ceremony a bit slow.

Next, on 21st November 2023, everything was just normal. I had an Art class on that day and we made a drawing with crayons. On 22nd November 2023, I had my last observation for my practicum. The kids are helpful but they were a bit distracted. Maybe because we had two observations before. So, they were a little bit bored. Anyway, the observation still went well. I got a decent mark from my mentor. She was very generous! Now, I can relax after finishing all of my observations.

On 23rd November 2023, I entered the 5 Sigma class. They showed me a flower crochet they made by themselves. It was so beautiful! They were very creative. After that, on 24th November 2023, I, was once again involved in a camp. The school hired an outside constructor to conduct the camp from 24th November until 25th November. In the afternoon, the pupils need to set up their tents and get ready for lunch and Zuhr prayer. They also did several more activities but I didn’t join because I needed to be there at night only to supervise the kids and not to be a facilitator. During the night, they made a cultural night where they formed the pupils into groups and they needed to create a dance for a 1-minute song. It was so fun watching them working in groups. In my days, my school didn’t conduct many camps for us. So, I didn’t experience much about camping. Back to them, after having a cultural night, they thought they were going to sleep but they were wrong! They had the night owl activity. They needed to cover their eyes with any fabrics or towels. The facilitator will place them one by one around the school. Before this activity started, some pupils already cried their eyes out. I remembered this one pupil who wanted to go back to his mom. Funny!

On the next day, they had aerobics early in the morning before having their breakfast. After they had breakfast, I went back home with my fellow practicum teachers. We had so much fun during the night. I forgot to mention that the teachers had a barbecue. I ate lamb grill which tasted so delicious!

 

So, with that my week 12 was done!

  HELLO! HELLO! Welcome to my week 13! Which means I still have another week to survive from practicum! I am so excited to finish practicum but also sad at the same time because I need to leave these precious kids. WEEK 1 (4TH SEPTEMBER - 9TH SEPTEMBER)

 HELLO! HELLO! Assalamualaikum and hi everyone! My name is Balqis binti Zaiedi and this is my first entry of my practicum experience. After waiting so long for this day, the wait is finally has come to an end. I am supposed to start my practicum in August but due to some circumstances, my practicum has been delayed to 4 th September 2023. The first step is always the hardest. I was very nervous on the first day since I was not going to do my practicum with any of my friends or classmates. I walked into the office alone that morning feeling nervous and anxious. Since this is my first time going to a real school and teaching real kids, I have a lot of things going on in my mind. WEEK 3 (18TH SEPTEMBER - 23RD SEPTEMBER)

  HELLO! HELLO! Welcome to my third week of practicum! Huh, almost a month just in the blink of an eye. Many things happened in week 3. Very hectic and busy week for teachers and pupils. Let’s start with 18 th September. On this day, we had a closing ceremony for Independence Month. All of us teachers and pupils need to wear traditional clothes that weren’t our culture. As for me, I wore Kurti, an Indian traditional clothing. It was my first time wearing it and I think that I would wear Kurti again on any other day. Mine was so pretty at an affordable price. I bought it online since the physical store seems to be a lot more expensive and pricey. On that day, I saw a lot of kids wearing many types of traditional clothes. When I was a kid, I never had a chance to wear like this, so it was exciting to see those cute faces wearing various types of traditional clothes.
