  HELLO! HELLO! It is now week 8! How fast time flies. During this week, we had one big event. It was exciting because this event involved pupils, teachers, parents and also public. On 24 th October 2023, I entered 2 Alfa for Art class. We made animal masks. They enjoyed the lesson very much. But, it was a bit hard to handle the class since they were too excited and tended to talk and walk around the class a lot. I need to calm down the class every 10 minutes. It was a bit tiring. On 25 th October 2023, on Wednesday, we had a curriculum session in the afternoon. I joined PPIM (Puteri Perlembagaan Islam Malaysia). The activity on that day was, that the pupils need to be a fashionista! They need to dress their friends like women warriors using tudung bawal and kain batik. This activity was also very interesting and enjoyable. I could see a lot of batik styles and it was also hilarious because there was one group that tried to make a tanjak but failed during the presentation. ...

  HELLO! HELLO! Believe it or not, I am halfway done with my practicum! Another 7 weeks to go. Let’s go! At this point, getting in class no longer gave me that nervous wreck in my tummy. English Week was held during this week. There are a few activities that happened throughout this week. On 16 th October 2023, I entered 3 Gamma at 11 in the morning. We did a reading comprehension activity. I could say that most of the pupils in the class can read. Only a few of them need some guidance to read. The activity on that day went very well. All the kids were enjoying the class so much. We also did a few other activities to keep the pupils entertained in the class. Up until this week, what I can say about teaching children under 12 was, that the kids tend to feel bored in the class if you do the same thing every day. They need something new every day.   HELLO! HELLO! Welcome to my week 6 of practicum at Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Maluri! Phew! Week 6 already? Time flies so fast. As for now, I feel comfortable walking into classes and interacting with kids and the teachers. It took me some time to feel this comfortable. So, this week, I think it is more challenging than the other weeks, why? First and foremost, on Monday 9 th and 10 th October 2023, the place I lived in had no water supply. But, luckily I already prepared 2 buckets of water for preparation. I got to school clean and showered. Some people don’t get the notice and end up going to school without taking a bath.   On both of these days, I entered my class like usual and there was no special occasion happening.   HELLO! HELLO! Welcome to my week 5 surviving the practicum! During this week, there was only 1 event that happened which was the Maulidur Rasul Celebration. So, let’s start with the first day of the week. On Monday, 2 nd October 2023 I got to enter 3 Gamma for English class. We learned about past tense. There is this one special kid in this class. He was a bit slow compared to his friends. But, what he did on this day was very thoughtful. I distributed them a worksheet and asked them to complete the exercise and handed it to me by the end of the class. As usual, some advanced kids completed the exercise within the times given. I made an exception for that one student because I knew that he would take the longest to complete the exercise. So, I don’t really mind if he wants to bring his work home.   HELLO! HELLO! Welcome to my 4 th week at SK Taman Maluri for my practicum. Last week was very packed and hectic. This week, everything was back to normal. Due to the Sports Day event last week, we got a day off on Monday, 25 th September 2023. It felt so good lying on the bed after a very busy week. My legs got cramped multiple times after the Sports Day. Next, on Tuesday 26 th September 2023, nothing special happened on that day. On that day, learning in class went on like usual. I got to enter one class which is 2 Alfa for Art subject. I gave them a piece of drawing paper and they needed to colour it by using the rubbing technique. They were allowed to be around the classroom and at the stairs to complete the colouring. Those kids have so many things to talk about. One hour of class was not enough for them to finish the colouring. Some of them just scratched the whole paper and some did really great! I remembered this one kid who coloured everything with only blue colour...

  HELLO! HELLO! Welcome to my third week of practicum! Huh, almost a month just in the blink of an eye. Many things happened in week 3. Very hectic and busy week for teachers and pupils. Let’s start with 18 th September. On this day, we had a closing ceremony for Independence Month. All of us teachers and pupils need to wear traditional clothes that weren’t our culture. As for me, I wore Kurti, an Indian traditional clothing. It was my first time wearing it and I think that I would wear Kurti again on any other day. Mine was so pretty at an affordable price. I bought it online since the physical store seems to be a lot more expensive and pricey. On that day, I saw a lot of kids wearing many types of traditional clothes. When I was a kid, I never had a chance to wear like this, so it was exciting to see those cute faces wearing various types of traditional clothes.   HELLO! HELLO! Hello! Welcome back to Week 2 of my practicum journey at Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Maluri. As usual, for the first few weeks, I had nothing to do except sit and do nothing. While I was doing nothing, my mentor came to me, and guess what? I finally got my own timetable. My very first official class starts on 12 th September. I was excited and knew what to expect when I got into the class. I was prepared mentally and physically to lose my voice again the next day. The next day has come and here I am walking to the class. It was my minor subject class which is Art subject. When I entered the classroom, I was shocked and smiled. The kids are doing their homework! Silently! From that moment, I know that I will like this class so much. I let them do their work for 10 minutes. Then, I gave each of them a piece of sketch paper. I told them to draw anything on the paper.  HELLO! HELLO! Assalamualaikum and hi everyone! My name is Balqis binti Zaiedi and this is my first entry of my practicum experience. After waiting so long for this day, the wait is finally has come to an end. I am supposed to start my practicum in August but due to some circumstances, my practicum has been delayed to 4 th September 2023. The first step is always the hardest. I was very nervous on the first day since I was not going to do my practicum with any of my friends or classmates. I walked into the office alone that morning feeling nervous and anxious. Since this is my first time going to a real school and teaching real kids, I have a lot of things going on in my mind. A lot of questions keep lingering inside my head and I don’t know what to expect. In my first week, I did nothing but greet the teachers and make new friends.
