WEEK 13 (27TH NOVEMBER 2023 - 1ST DECEMBER 2023)

  HELLO! HELLO! Welcome to my week 13! Which means I still have another week to survive from practicum! I am so excited to finish practicum but also sad at the same time because I need to leave these precious kids. I didn’t expect to have such a great time with them! they treated me with love and the class was so fun. I also got a few small gifts from them. I will keep it with me forever. On 27 th November 2023, I entered 3 Gamma and got a biscuit, jelly and keychains. I asked them why they gave me these. They said because they just wanted to with very cute faces. I received their gifts with open heart. Next, on 28 th November 2023, Massimo came to our school. Everyone got 3 bread each including teachers and pupils. But, I got 7 breads on that day. Why? I received 4 breads from my pupils. I refused to take it from them but they insisted. I can’t do anything but to receive them because I was in the middle of class. WEEK 12 (20TH NOVEMBER 2023 - 25TH NOVEMBER 2023)

 HELLO! HELLO! On 20 th November 2023, we had a morning assembly like usual. But, we also had an award ceremony for Language Week. I was also an emcee to call upon the winners from English Week. I was nervous because it was my first time in so long being an emcee. But, all praises to Allah that everything went very well. However, there were a few winners that didn’t come to the stage on time when I called them. so, it made the ceremony a bit slow. Next, on 21 st November 2023, everything was just normal. I had an Art class on that day and we made a drawing with crayons. On 22 nd November 2023, I had my last observation for my practicum. The kids are helpful but they were a bit distracted. Maybe because we had two observations before. So, they were a little bit bored. Anyway, the observation still went well. I got a decent mark from my mentor. She was very generous! WEEK 11 (13TH NOVEMBER 2023 - 17TH NOVEMBER 2023)

 HELLO! HELLO! On 13 th and 14 th of November, it was the Deepavali holiday. So, there were no schools! On 15 th November 2023, we had a curriculum day for PPKI (Program Pendidikan Khas Integrasi) pupils. They were opening booths and selling food! There was also a fish in a pool. They were given 2 minutes to catch as many fish as they could within the time. I went to 5 Sigma class just to check on them. They were showing me how many fish they caught today and there was this one girl who gave me a box of donuts. It was so nice of her! After that, we had a PPIM meeting from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. The activity that we did was learning types of sling wrap or “balutan anduh”. Next, on 16 th November 2023, the school held a “Kem Bestari Solat”. It involved all the pupils. My friend and I need to monitor year 6 Alfa. They basically needed to memorize the reading in ‘solat’. WEEK 10 (6TH NOVEMBER 2023 - 10TH NOVEMBER 2023)

 HELLO! HELLO! On 6 th November 2023, the school had a singing competition for Children’s Day. I didn’t record much. I only record a few of them. some of them were talented with singing. Some of them just do it for fun. By the way, this competition was only for Year 4, 5 and 6. I had so much fun enjoying their singing. There was this one contestant who got a broken hand but still performed energetically on the stage. Just…. WOW! Bandaged hand but he performed very well. I don’t know where he got the energy from. On 7 th November 2023, I entered 2 Alfa for Art Class as usual. I asked them to make a card for their friends, parents or teachers. Several of them made a card for me! I was so touched. They told me how much they loved me and even drew me. They were so adorable! I appreciate each one of them who gave me the card. I will keep the cards forever! WEEK 9 (30TH OCTOBER 2023 - 3RD NOVEMBER 2023)

  HELLO! HELLO! Due to the Fun Run event, we got an occasional holiday on Monday (30 th October 2023). On 31 st October 2023, we had a morning assembly. We also had a Solidarity Palestine program. All the pupils were very energetic. They were praying with all of their heart for our beloved brothers and sisters who were suffering and killed there in Palestine. They brought with them Palestine flags. Next, on 1 st November 2023, we had English Club meeting at 5 Alfa class. There were a few activities that were held. First, pupils need to read a poem that was written on the board. Secondly, they need to create a poem by themselves in groups. Then, they need to present their poems to the class. On 2 nd November 2023, the teachers’ room was renovated. So, I need to sit in “Bilik Gerakan” instead. On this day, I helped my friend to do a practice with 2Beta for Children Day. WEEK 8 (23RD OCTOBER 2023 - 28TH OCTOBER 2023)

  HELLO! HELLO! It is now week 8! How fast time flies. During this week, we had one big event. It was exciting because this event involved pupils, teachers, parents and also public. On 24 th October 2023, I entered 2 Alfa for Art class. We made animal masks. They enjoyed the lesson very much. But, it was a bit hard to handle the class since they were too excited and tended to talk and walk around the class a lot. I need to calm down the class every 10 minutes. It was a bit tiring. On 25 th October 2023, on Wednesday, we had a curriculum session in the afternoon. I joined PPIM (Puteri Perlembagaan Islam Malaysia). The activity on that day was, that the pupils need to be a fashionista! They need to dress their friends like women warriors using tudung bawal and kain batik. This activity was also very interesting and enjoyable. WEEK 7 (16TH OCTOBER 2023 - 20TH OCTOBER 2023)

  HELLO! HELLO! Believe it or not, I am halfway done with my practicum! Another 7 weeks to go. Let’s go! At this point, getting in class no longer gave me that nervous wreck in my tummy. English Week was held during this week. There are a few activities that happened throughout this week. On 16 th October 2023, I entered 3 Gamma at 11 in the morning. We did a reading comprehension activity. I could say that most of the pupils in the class can read. Only a few of them need some guidance to read. The activity on that day went very well. All the kids were enjoying the class so much. We also did a few other activities to keep the pupils entertained in the class. Up until this week, what I can say about teaching children under 12 was, that the kids tend to feel bored in the class if you do the same thing every day. They need something new every day. WEEK 6 (9TH OCTOBER 2023 - 14TH OCTOBER 2023)

  HELLO! HELLO! Welcome to my week 6 of practicum at Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Maluri! Phew! Week 6 already? Time flies so fast. As for now, I feel comfortable walking into classes and interacting with kids and the teachers. It took me some time to feel this comfortable. So, this week, I think it is more challenging than the other weeks, why? First and foremost, on Monday 9 th and 10 th October 2023, the place I lived in had no water supply. But, luckily I already prepared 2 buckets of water for preparation. I got to school clean and showered. Some people don’t get the notice and end up going to school without taking a bath.   On both of these days, I entered my class like usual and there was no special occasion happening. WEEK 5 (2ND OCTOBER 2023 - 6TH OCTOBER 2023)

  HELLO! HELLO! Welcome to my week 5 surviving the practicum! During this week, there was only 1 event that happened which was the Maulidur Rasul Celebration. So, let’s start with the first day of the week. On Monday, 2 nd October 2023 I got to enter 3 Gamma for English class. We learned about past tense. There is this one special kid in this class. He was a bit slow compared to his friends. But, what he did on this day was very thoughtful. I distributed them a worksheet and asked them to complete the exercise and handed it to me by the end of the class. As usual, some advanced kids completed the exercise within the times given. I made an exception for that one student because I knew that he would take the longest to complete the exercise. So, I don’t really mind if he wants to bring his work home. WEEK 4 (25TH SEPTEMBER 2023 - 29TH SEPTEMBER 2023)

  HELLO! HELLO! Welcome to my 4 th week at SK Taman Maluri for my practicum. Last week was very packed and hectic. This week, everything was back to normal. Due to the Sports Day event last week, we got a day off on Monday, 25 th September 2023. It felt so good lying on the bed after a very busy week. My legs got cramped multiple times after the Sports Day. Next, on Tuesday 26 th September 2023, nothing special happened on that day. On that day, learning in class went on like usual. I got to enter one class which is 2 Alfa for Art subject. I gave them a piece of drawing paper and they needed to colour it by using the rubbing technique. They were allowed to be around the classroom and at the stairs to complete the colouring. Those kids have so many things to talk about. One hour of class was not enough for them to finish the colouring. Some of them just scratched the whole paper and some did really great! WEEK 3 (18TH SEPTEMBER - 23RD SEPTEMBER)

  HELLO! HELLO! Welcome to my third week of practicum! Huh, almost a month just in the blink of an eye. Many things happened in week 3. Very hectic and busy week for teachers and pupils. Let’s start with 18 th September. On this day, we had a closing ceremony for Independence Month. All of us teachers and pupils need to wear traditional clothes that weren’t our culture. As for me, I wore Kurti, an Indian traditional clothing. It was my first time wearing it and I think that I would wear Kurti again on any other day. Mine was so pretty at an affordable price. I bought it online since the physical store seems to be a lot more expensive and pricey. On that day, I saw a lot of kids wearing many types of traditional clothes. When I was a kid, I never had a chance to wear like this, so it was exciting to see those cute faces wearing various types of traditional clothes.
